Keeping “The Others” Out

Listen to Pastor Jonathan Woolner talk about hate and racism in the parable of the Good Samaritan. He asks us to consider and discuss who is  nearby that we are called to love, and what we can do to “…inherit eternal life”, meaning specifically, experiencing the kingdom of God here on earth, living in peace and with love. Read along in Luke 10:25-37.

Gossip

Listen to Jonathan Woolner speak about gossip, and how the Bible instructs us to handle grievances with our brothers and sisters directly, and to value unity and connection with God and with others. Read along in Matthew 18:15-17

Technical Note: Missing CDs for CD recorder, so the recording was done by a cell phone app. Sorry about the poor sound quality.

A 55 Gallon Drum of Grace: Part 2

Listen  to Jonathan Woolner speak about the love the father shows to his sons and daughters, which cannot be earned. The “good son” is challenged to be reconciled to the father by his own ego. Forgiveness is offered before, during, and after our sin by the father. Obedience is a result of the father’s love, not it’s cause. Radical love wins the heart, not condemnation. Read along in Luke 15:11-32

The Divine Limp

The Sermon audio was believed not to have been successfully recorded this Sunday. You are encouraged to read John 11:17-38. Jesus spoke an encouraging word to Martha, but sat and wept with Mary and the mourning others. Consider making room for pain as Jesus did, and to sit and weep with others, move through the pain, and transcend in humility with God’s grace. Allow times of silence to hear from God. Update: Listen

Keep Going

Listen to Pastor Jonathan Woolner discuss everything we are created to be, and what keeps us from embracing the blessing God has already given us. We are made to live on the words of God, not only on those physical things we crave. Reading in: Genesis 1:27-28Genesis 3:6-8, and Deuteronomy 8:1-5
