Steve Hoden, Lead Pastor
Pastor Steve has served as Lead Pastor at Edgewater since August 2017, is ordained in the Evangelical Covenant Church and has previously served churches in Minnesota and Spain. Steve grew up in Duluth, Minnesota – developing a love for all things outdoors. He loves tent camping , good coffee, standing on the beach and being married to the love of his life, Rebecca, for 24 years. He’s thankful to God for leading him to serve the people of Edgewater, Pittsburg and the East Bay of California.
Fun Fact: Steve loves to eat Rice Krispies almost obsessively – they would be his desert island food!
Karyn Engle, Ministry Support Pastor
Karyn is a licensed bi-vocational pastor who serves as a support role in various areas. She works as a special education aide for K-8th grade students and is in school full time working on her Education Specialist credential. Along with Ezra, she enjoys spending time with her family and serving God where He calls.
Fun Fact: Karyn enjoys working in the yard, tending to plants, and small creative endeavors. She loves seeing the results of her work and enjoys visible growth and progress in many areas of her life, and in the lives of those around her.
Stacy Hart, Children’s Leader
Stacy leads a team of teachers in our Kidzone ministry (K-5th grade) and loves working with our children. She is bi-vocational, working to help individuals and families in the community. She is humbled by God for allowing her to be used with His power and her gifts to serve people.
Fun Fact: Stacy doesn’t really like a lot of attention, but is great at what she does. She probably bristles at the fact that any of this was written about her.
Ezra Engle, Youth Leader
Ezra co-leads our youth ministry (6th-12th grades) along with Cyndi Engle, (who also happens to be his sister-in-law). Edgewater partners with another local church to open up more resources for all of our teens. Ezra serves as a bi-vocational youth leader, also working full-time in communications repairing phone and internet service in the area. Somehow he balances this on top of parenting five children (two of which aren’t children anymore)! Ezra is a talented illustrator and creative in many ways. He is thankful for the opportunity to show God’s love to our teens.
Fun Fact: Ezra enjoys working out, running, cycling to and from work, recording and editing audio, podcasting, and helping other churches get their own websites up and running as a small side business!
